The Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan ranks up there, along with Tibet, as a mystical country that is even more intriguing due to its relative isolation from tourism.

Visitor numbers are restricted and this definitely appeals.

A recent BBC documentary – Lost Land of the Tiger – showed just how untainted and wild Bhutan is, reinforcing its place in my bucket list.

It’s not a cheap destination given the price of visas, flights and a necessary daily visitor fee… one day.
